Access Statement Pendomer House is set in a rural location, about 4 miles from the centre of Yeovil. It is not on a bus route and the nearest bus stop is just over a mile away in East Coker. The nearest railway station is Yeovil Junction, a 12 minute drive away. Taxis are available at the station but should be booked in advance, particularly out of normal working hours. We can give you telephone numbers of taxis on request. Realistically, guests staying at Pendomer need to have their own transport unless they are planning a walking holiday which some guests have enjoyed in the past! The house was built as a rectory in 1857. It has been significantly refurbished and updated but it still retains the graceful features of an old house. Guests have their own entrance to the house and access to the ground floor breakfast/sitting room involves no steps. All the bedrooms are on the first floor which is reached by means of a staircase which is manageable for those with even walking difficulties. However there is no lift or chair lift which makes Pendomer unsuitable for those guests with severely impaired mobility. There is plenty of parking space, even for horse/boat trailers. |
